The Bladed Lady saw Prince Keen
His actions made her wince
Her anger at the life she'd lost
She now turned on the prince.
Flash, flash, their swords did clash
A thousand times they met
Rush, rush, their feet did fly
The upper hand to get
"You are the very worst," she said,
"To act in such a way!"
"I'm just a man," the Prince replied
"My instincts I obey."
The Bladed Lady on offense
She had the upper hand
Though quicker than the eye could see
Still not a blow could land.
"And have you never felt such love,
To make your heart feel light?
And have you never spoken up
To say what you thought right?"
Flash, flash, their swords did clash
A thousand times they met
Rush, rush, their feet did fly
The upper hand to get
The prince was steady on his feet
His poise was firm and sure
He seemed prepared for every blow
Content to just endure
"Perhaps I spoke a little soon
For we had only met
But as in war, so also love:
Take every chance you get"
Flash, flash, their swords did clash
A thousand times they met
Rush, rush, their feet did fly
The upper hand to get
But when the chances came to him
The prince did not strike back
He had no wish to harm his foe
Deflecting her attack
"And maybe she was in her home
And maybe I barged in
And maybe I came on too strong
But that's the way I win!"
Flash, flash, their swords did clash
A thousand times they met
Rush, rush, their feet did fly
The upper hand to get
The fairy watched with some distress
The fight as it went on
And wished they'd both just go away
Not drag it out so long.
"But then again, I didn't win
Nor gain a thing this way
I've only made myself a fool
That's all I've done today"
Flash, flash, their swords did clash
A thousand times they met
Rush, rush, their feet did fly
The upper hand to get
The Bladed Lady lost some ground
The prince now pushed her back
When suddenly she stumbled, fell
With someone at her back
The prince stood back, tried not to laugh
To see her stumble so
But who was this who made her fall,
And broke their fighting flow?
