The hunter tried to clear his mind
And push all thoughts aside
Forget just what he sought to find
But thoughts are hard to hide
This wretched curse he could not shake
Could still be tricked with care
By thinking of the course to take
As "anywhere but there"
And "anywhere but there" was wise
For where he wished to go
To see it with his own two eyes
The horror none could know
"Such power I can't comprehend,"
The Bladed Lady said.
Perhaps enough to bring an end
To this curse on his head?
And soon he saw an eerie glow
And soon he faced the light
And there saw all he did not know
And trembled at its might
"Great spirit, ruler of this wood,
Please lift this curse on me,
Great spirit please, I know you could,
So please just set me free."
"Perhaps you're better off this way"
The light seemed to reply
"Learn to be thankful for each day,
who knows when you might die."
"Perhaps you're right" the hunter said
And felt his spirits sink
And followed not where that thought lead
Far better not to think
The hunter tried to clear his mind
And put all thoughts aside
Forgot just what he'd sought to find
And from the thoughts he'd hide.
